The state digital services app, Diia, lets you check whether your MTPL policy is valid. The vehicle owner can pull the policy and its key details up in the app. An MTPL policy is added to Diia automatically, without the policyholder doing anything. In some cases, though, vehicle owners do not see their compulsory car insurance in Diia.<\/p>\n

When an app user buys an MTPL policy, they will not see it in Diia before the start date of the cover (the term of the contract).<\/p>\n

The policy may take some time to appear. This depends on how data is exported from the Unified Centralised Database for compulsory civil liability insurance into the Diia app. That process takes a certain amount of time and depends on Diia’s own internal procedures, which the insurer has no control over.<\/p>\n

Why does my MTPL policy not appear in Diia?<\/p>\n

  1. The body number (VIN code) is entered incorrectly on the policy. Always check that the VIN is correct on the draft policy before paying. If the vehicle registration document shows two numbers, we recommend using the one shown in the state registers.<\/li>\n
  2. The MTPL policy has not started yet. The contract takes effect at 00:00 on the date shown in the relevant section of the policy. As a rule, this is no earlier than the day after you pay for the insurance.<\/li>\n
  3. The Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTSBU) has not yet uploaded the data on concluded contracts to the Diia service.<\/li>\n
  4. There is a technical fault or scheduled maintenance in the app.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It is important to understand that insurers and the National Police of Ukraine treat the presence of the MTPL policy in the MTSBU database, not in Diia, as the primary source for checking that cover is valid. This is public information, and anyone can check free of charge whether a policy exists on the MTSBU website, using some of the following:<\/p>\n

    – the vehicle’s registration number;<\/p>\n

    – the body number (the unique VIN code) shown in the registration document;<\/p>\n

    – the MTPL policy number.<\/p>\n

    Insurers licensed to sell MTPL policies belong to the Motor Bureau. That is where the policy is registered and given its unique number.<\/p>\n

    For the convenience of our clients, Polis24 sends a link to the Unified Centralised Database showing that the policy exists at the same time as the signed contract. As a rule, this takes up to 15 minutes from the moment of payment.<\/p>\n

    Other insurance products in Diia.<\/p>\n

    At present, other insurance products are not available in Diia, for example, Green Card or travel medical insurance for trips abroad.<\/p>\n

    The reasons:<\/p>\n

    1. These are voluntary insurance products, for example CASCO, voluntary liability insurance, or medical insurance. Each insurer develops its own unique insurance product independently.<\/li>\n
    2. There is no integration with the Diia service (for example, for Green Card).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
